What is SEL

Social Emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

DataZone SEL Survey

The DataZone team, along with district leaders from our consortium, worked to develop the SEL Survey instrument and accompanying analytics. DataZone's SEL Survey has been in use for over 4 years by districts from Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, and Napa County.

Survey

Survey setup is easy. We use a secure, single authentication sign-on for students. Computer administration takes about 20 minutes.

Results

Access to dashboards and metrics within DataZone Analytics that allow for deeper analysis and comparison across data factors. District has the ability to manage the access to results.

Support

Access to support and services provided by regional experts, county level staff, and district peers.

Survey Instrument

There are two components to the SEL Survey - Social Emotional Learning and College & Career Readiness.

Social Emotional Learning Component

The SEL Survey items are grouped into 7 topics with 3 questions per group.

Career & College Readiness Component

The CCR Survey items are grouped according to school type.
